Taelin's First Birthday!

I didn't get to writing about Taelin's birthday! I would like to say thank you to everyone who helped and shared this special day with us. Taelin had such a great day! We went to the zoo first thing in the morning and we are glad that we did. All of the animals seemed to be awake and were being fed! That is the best time to watch them since they are out of hiding and moving around. It was great!

Taelin loved the monkeys... here is a video of her talking to them in the monkey house!
For the first time at the Hogle Zoo, I got to see the penguins being fed! ( sorry the picture is blurry) So they were actually doing something rather than just standing there. They were going in the water!!! For some reason I love watching them jump into the water! The Bears were having enrichment exercises. This is where they hid food around their exhibit and then observe them finding the yummy treats!

After a long day at the zoo Taelin took a nap on the way home. It was great! I hurried and finnished making some cup cakes for her party and then we were off to Lion's park. The weather had been perfect all day and then out of no where the wind picked up and it started to get cold! Even though the weather wasn't the best everyone still came and helped us celebrate! Thank you... There was great food and lots of presents! We had a blast and at the end of the day were ready for bed!

New Adventures!!!

Okay so there are actually a few things that came before Taelin's birthday that I would like to share!

First time putting feet into Provo River... bur... it was cold!!!

Taelin and Logan (her cousin) took their first swimming class together. It was so much fun to see how Taelin loved the water. This was the first time she had entered a pool since she was two months old. She liked it a lot more this time! :) We tried to teach her to lay on her back in the water, it worked as long as mom's shoulder was under her head. I dunked her for the first time that day. I have to say that she did very well, she was a little suprised but didn't cry at all. Logan started to warm up to the idea of a pool about the second lesson. The first lesson he was frozen, litteraly, he was shivering and everything. At the second lesson he started to play which warmed up a little!

Danny was accepted to BYU this summer semester. So we went on campus to meet with his councelor to sign up for the right classes. Taelin decided that she wanted to push the stroller, not sit in it, around campus. Danny is enjoying his Chemistry class so far. It is challenging but he is trying his best to understand it.

Before school started we decided that we needed to take a vacation. We were planning on going out to CA to visit my mom. We sat down and realized that the only week that would work was memorial weekend. My sister Jennie and her family were going to be there for their pit stop on their way to Vietnam. My Aunt was there and my sister Emily and family was going to be there. It ended up being a great big family reunion. My brother Michael drove with us from Utah, it was nice to have someone to keep Danny awake. I am a sleeping traveler. I enjoy long naps while traveling long or short distances in the car! hehehe
It was so nice to have a vacation away from everyday life! We swam almost every day, even though it was overcast and sometimes I think colder than Utah. But it was a blast. The food, company, and accommodations were wonderful! Thanks for having us Buckwalters.

The gorgeous view walking down from the beach condo. San Clemente beach is beautiful!

Auntie knowing how hot it was going to be in Vietnam, she bought Emma some new night gowns for bed! She loved them!

After our trip to CA. Taelin decided to play with the vacuum. She is terrified of the vacuum, but still likes to touch it. Here is a funny clip of her experimenting with the power button.

A much needed update!!!

It wasn't ME!!!

So it has been way toooo long since I have posted! Our computer crashed, we got rid of the Internet, and we are too impatient to use my in-laws computer to blog! Talk about like 20 min to load a page at times!!! Not worth it! Excuses excuses I know!!! Danny started school at BYU this summer semester so we needed to buy a computer for homework, since everything is online these days! I am happy to now be at home on a fast computer instead of the ancient one at the Robertson's house. :) We are very grateful to them though for letting us us theirs in the meantime!

Since February, much has happened in our lives. Taelin is growing up way too fast but we are loving almost every minute of it. The bad sleeping habits I could do without! :) But everything else is wonderful. From learning how to walk, saying Mama, Dada, going up and down stairs, to eating normal food (no more baby food). Taelin is almost bottle weened, and she is finally getting her upper four teeth! Ouch, I have soo many cute pictures, but they are a pain to put on here, so we will see how many I post!

St. Patrick's Day at G-ma and G-pa Robertson's!!

Mountain View Easter egg hunt with Flake family!
(Holly, Dallas, Celeste, Janell, Natalie and Taelin)
Thank you Michael for getting up and driving Taelin and Me to the Orem and Provo Easter egg hunts! It was a blast!

This was the best way to get Taelin to pick up eggs by herself!

Easter with the cousins!

Taelin learned how to walk! These are her first few steps!

Family Vacation

We took a family Vacation with the Robertsons to Goblin Valley, UT. This was quite the trip. We drove down to meet everyone on Sunday after Work and Church. Then on Monday we all hiked Wild Horse Canyon! It was beautiful! The sand stone shows perfect lines from the wear and tare of water and wind moving through the canyon. My cousin Jamie let us barrow her baby pack! Thank you!!! It was a life saver. Danny said that by the end of the day his shoulders hurt, but it was nice to not have to hold Taelin the whole way. It was a five mile hike! Taelin slept, watched, cried, ate, etc... all in the back pack and came out for a little break in the middle. After the hike, the wind started to pick up. We got in the cars and went for a quick trip down to visit the goblins. These are statues formed by the wind. It was sooo windy down there. The wind pelted my legs and it felt like tiny needles hitting me everywhere. We covered Taelin and hurried down the hill to the goblins. It was fun to hike around them for a while. Alex and Matt had fun jumping from goblin to goblin.

Danny and I provided Chili for dinner that night and then everyone retired to their tents, due to the wind. This was a long night! The zipper on our tent wouldn't close! After much patience Danny and I finally got the door closed. I went to gather some things and when came back noticed Danny in the tent, and thought to myself, oh, he must have fixed the zipper and then proceeded to open the zipper. Ahhhh... I should have just shot myself in the foot. He had entered the tent through the door on the other side of the tent!!! We never got the door closed again. We tried duct tape but it was no match for the sandy wind. Luckily the tent had three different rooms so we closed Taelin's side off, from the main part, so the sandy wind would not get to her. Danny and I took turns through the night holding up the poles to the tent. At one point Danny fell asleep and woke with a bonk on the head. The wind felt like it could have been blowing about 70 mph. That morning it was pretty much hurry and pack up as quick as possible for everyone! As we were emptying our tent I started to hear snapping. Two of the spring poles had snapped. After that we hurried as fast as we could to pack up the tent! I don't even remember if we had breakfast! I don't think that we did. The babies, Taelin and Logan chilled in the van with Megan while we were taking down the tents. Scott and Amanda, Danny and I headed back to Orem while the rest headed to Denver. This was a fun yet interesting vacation.

Sergent JD Thornock Home from Iraq
We had so much fun getting ready for JD to come home from Iraq. When Laura told us, we called around to see who would donate things to welcome home a Marine from Iraq. WalMart decided to donate yellow balloons and Maceys helium and string. The ward put up flags down our street and Laura and I made signs to put up. It was going to be perfect. Well each day we waited for the final I'm coming home and it finally came on May 1st, 2008 he would be arriving at the base around 4:00 p.m. The wind was horrible. We were going to steak balloons between each flag but they were popping on the grass. So we ended up putting bunches around their front door and up the banister in their house and by the sign at the beginning of our street! It looked great!

I know that many of you are waiting for Taelin's Birthday Celebration pictures etc... but it is too late to start on that. So I will post again hopefully tomorrow! Until then thanks for reading!

Little changes in our daily life!

So... Taelin has another tooth coming in! We are so excited. She also started to clap yesterday, and her crawling pace is getting faster each day. She amazes me with all of the new things that she learns each day.

As far as Taelin's episodes go, she hasn't had one since Tuesday after our Dr's apt. I am so grateful for that. My mom was looking up what some of the causes were and one of them was pain. I am wondering if she was reacting because of her ear ache!? It's crazy, I had no idea that she even had one. The only sign she showed was lack of interest in her food. But I thought that was just because of her cold. Anyway... I am so glad that she hasn't had one since. Knock on wood!!!

Danny started his job last night! I was sooo bored. While Taelin took her nap, I vacuumed the floor and finished the dishes, swept the floor and deep cleaned the counters. Then Danny's mom came over and visited with me for a while! I was so grateful it made time go by so much faster. Then I called my Sister Jennie and talked with her about the Twilight Saga! I finished the last book yesterday morning Feb. 21st 08. Just to tell you how much I was into the books, I stayed up till 3:00 a.m. reading! I couldn't stop. Now I am sad that it is all over, I can't wait for the next one that comes out on August 2nd. Anyways... I talked with my sister for a little over and hour. She is also in love with the books. She has read them three times each! It was fun talking to her. Anyway, the time seemed to fly by it was great! I am sure that I will find a lot of things to fill my new spare time with in the future!
As far as Danny's job went, he loved it. He is catching on quickly about all of the rules etc.. I think that he really loves working with the youth.
Thanks for reading,
Natalie

Life can be scary at times!

So Yesterday Feb. 18 2008, Taelin surprised us with something new! I have to admit that it is not something that I like. I laid her down for a nap and she started to cry, a hard cry, like I just hit my head on the bench kind of cry. Then she stopped breathing and turned blue and was limp. I hurried and turned her upside down on my knee and started to pat/hit her back as if she was choking on something. She finally came to and was crying! It was the worst thing ever. She has been sooo sick lately that I just assumed that she as choking on saliva/snot/etc... Well today after her bath, Danny laid her on the changing table to put a diaper on and she did it again. Of course we thought that we should take her to the Dr's. So While we were there, the Dr. didn't seem surprised to hear about these episodes. He checked everything out and informed us that she had an ear infection and that because of her age and temperament that she was going through a stage where she holds her breath. I guess that a lot for children do this. Of course she is not doing it on purpose, but he said that she starts crying and catches herself off guard and quits breathing. He said that she will start breathing on her own after these episodes. Well she was given her Hepatitis shot while we were there and of course she did it while we were there. I hate it when she does it! You have NO idea what goes through my mind, heart and body. It's like a panic attack. What do I do, and am I doing it right, she's still NOT breathing and then all of the sudden she does! Gasping for air!!! This is the worst feeling. The first time she did it I thought that she was dead!! Ahhhhh.... why does she have to pull on my heart strings like this. I feel like I can't not have the monitor on now! I have to be reassured that she is still breathing. I know that they said that she will start breathing on her own, but what if she doesn't. I don't think that we are going to be able to finish sleep trainging Taelin! I just can't bear the thought of her not breathing! I hope that when she feels a little better that she will sleep train herself and the she will learn not to cry soooo hard!

Anyway, That is the latest about Taelin. Other that that she is a cute happy little camper. She loves to crawl around to see what she can find.

Our car was hit on Sunday night, and the someone who hit our car just drove away like it was no big deal. Of course we didn't see or hear anything. I can't believe that people wouldn't leave a note with their name and number with and apology!! It just angers me soooo much! That is the purpose of insurance! Sure your cost is going to go up, but that is the price of driving badly. Ahhhh anyway.... the dent is below our gas tank and above the rear drivers side wheel. There is a little red paint so I have been keeping my eyes out for a red car in our neighborhood that parks across the street from us. When we have the money to fix it the car will also need to be painted. There are huge!! pieces coming off.

On to the good news Danny found a job! He is working for the Provo Canyon School! He went and observed the other day and seemed to really like it. He has always liked working with the youth so I feel that it will be a really good job for him. We also feel that it will work well with school.

I have been enjoying the Twilight series! I have read the first two books in three days, and my sister in law brought over the third book today! I am sooo excited to read it!

That is just about all that is new with our family. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

8 Months Old

Taelin is officially 8 months. Our little sweetheart is growing up so fast! Too fast if you ask me. This last week she has learned how to crawl on her knees, stand up in her crib, stand up holding on to the couch/chair etc... She LOVES gold fish crackers and eating real food. This morning when feeding her I noticed that the spoon would stick when she bit on it. Usually it just slides right out. So I looked in her mouth and there it was, the top of a little tooth on the bottom left!! We are so excited. We were starting to think that she was never going to stop screaming in the night. Now I feel bad that I let her cry. Taelin has pretty much been sick the whole wither. I was really good for the first few months... but these past few weeks, I have just been giving her medicine and letting her cry. Now we at least know why she was crying. I am so excited maybe now we will get some sleep.

For those of you who don't know, Danny was laid off this past week and so we are currently looking for a new job that will work with school! Nothing that we have applied for, so far, has been promising, but we will keep looking. Our neighbor works for Provo Canyon School and was talking about needing some more help. So we think that maybe Danny could go work for him. We will see what comes of that.

I am doing great and am loving the adult company at home! I think that we are all caught up. I will post some more pictures soon.
Later,
Natalie
