From the Beginning

So... I have wanted to post a ton of pictures about Taelin's life! I thought that I could make a slide show of me pregnant... the hospital experience and then to the present time! It has taken us forever to figure the best way to download pictures to our computer. We are so excited to have finally accomplished it. We put these pictures on a slide show and Danny picked the music. It has been a family activity.

So... The pictures of friends/ relatives holding Taelin are her firsts. I know that some of you are going to look at them and say... that is not my best picture... we decided that it is the moment that counts. It was your first time holding little baby Taelin that we were trying to capture. I hope that all of you enjoy seeing what makes Taelin our family treasure.

Taelin was born on June 10th 2007 at 2:17 a.m. Dr. Lamereaux was sure that she was going to be a c-section at 2:00 a.m. But I proved him wrong! hehehe It sure was a party in the room when Taelin entered our world. Literally!! At the last minute, I decided to invite the girls that were waiting in the waiting rooms to come in. They were all my good friends and sister-in-laws. It was a party! Taelin had a rough start in life. She had a respiratory team there to help her breath. Taelin was 9 days early. She had a lack of surfactant in her lungs making it hard for her to breath. They put her on a CPAP! ? It is a machine that creates constant positive air flow into the lungs. Taelin was in the level two nursery (NICU) for the first 6 days of her life! She was extremely jaundice so she lived in a constant tanning bed! :) The nurses in the nursery were so kind and took great care of her for us... they put bows in her hair and styled it cute... Taelin was born with dark curly hair! It was a blast! She weighted 8 lbs 8 oz and was 21 inches long! We were so excited when Dr. Johnson told us that she was going to be able to come home. Between coming and going from the hospital for feedings and work. Danny and I were exhausted. The fifteen minute drive to the hospital was not only a dangerous hazard for us but also for others on the road. :)

Taelin has been a good baby from the start. She lets us know when she is tired, needs a change etc.. She is happy and laid back just like her father! hehehe Most people including myself think that Taelin looks like her father. She did have my dark hair, but it has slowly gotten lighter. She is adorable and we love her very much.

Thanks for reading and we hope that you enjoy the show!

One of Taelin's firsts

On Wednesday October 10th Taelin had her 4 month visit with Dr. Spencer. She weighed 12 lbs 13 oz and was 24 and a half inches long. She is still in the 50 percent in height and weight but is in the 25 percentile for head size. While at the Dr's office Taelin rolled over to her side and grabbed her toes, this is a first. Taelin got 4 shots and was not pleased, she screamed for about 15 minutes until she fell asleep in my arms. (yes I gave her Tylenol) She passed with a clean slate! Taelin is as healthy as a horse! heheh I wish that I could down load a picture for you! I will have to work on that one!

Today October 14th Danny and I spoke in church on service. There were so many great talks in conference about it! I love Elder Michael J. Teh.. you will have to go to the church web site and read it again! Great message! Danny did a wonderful job and he said that I did too! heheh I am glad that it is over with. For some reason I get so anxious before and while I give a talk and then when it is all said and done you feel so great!

Today Taelin has been working on rolling over! Before church she would almost get there except for her arm was in the way. She must have done some hard thinking about it while we were at church because when we got home she rolled over and was able to get her arm out from under her! We have a movie clip of her doing it I will need to download it so you all can see! She is so cute! She works so hard to get onto her tummy but doesn't know what to do when she gets there. So we turn her back over and she seems to be even madder that we did so! Maybe she will start working on rolling onto her back :) . She also has been doing really well sitting up with support. Taelin is loving life and doing well!

Danny and I are doing great! This weekend Danny had a YM camp-out and they went to Goblin Valley. When they got there is was dark and the camp ground was full so they decided to camp out side of the actual area. Danny and the other leaders slept out under the stars, he said that they loved it except for the rolling around in the night! Isn't that how camping always is? In the morning Danny discovered that he was sleeping on a mound not a flat surface! heheh needless to say he was glad to come home to a bed! They had a fun time hiking Horseman's trail or something like that!? I would ask Danny but he is asleep on the couch! hehe

I watched Alli this weekend while Nick and Miriam celebrate Miriam's birthday (12th). She was such a little cutie! Auntie came over and we went to a boutique in Mapleton! It was a fun little adventure, a little difficult to look at everything with a 3 year old but it went great! We had pizza for dinner and Alli brushed Auntie's hair. Alli went to bed really well! Taelin however had a ruff start to the evening! After talking to mom and Auntie I think that she might have had a huge bubble or something because she screamed for about 35 min straight and then threw-up (a lot). She took a while settling herself to sleep but finally did so.

Life is an ever on-going learning experience and can be tiresome but most of all great! Love you all,
Natalie

Our FIRST family vacation!!

Hello Everyone! This is my first official post on my personal blog! Yippee :) This is a picture from our fist family adventure with Taelin (she is two months in this picture). We had so much fun on our trip to California. We went to the beach, several restaurants, played in the pool, went four wheeling etc... We had a the time of our lives!

Danny had a blast with Michael! They were inseparable on this trip. In Vegas they were constantly talking about the sights, girls, food, etc... They would stay up late playing pool, playing in the pool, tennis, ping pong, etc... As soon as the sun came up they were out on the beach with their boogie boards hitting up the waves. (Melissa has some fun pictures on her web site!) Then when all tuckered out took naps to recoup for the rest of the evening! We all had sooo much fun. I was so glad that Michael was there to have fun with Danny since I was still some what recouping from the baby and I was tired from waking in the middle of the night for feedings.

Taelin and I had a blast watching the boy's and all of their adventures. We even had a few of our own. Taelin had her first dip (just her toes) in the pool on her two month mark. She didn't care for the semi cool water. We walked on the beach, sat in the sand, bought a new hat, wore sun screen for the first time, strolled down the Las Vegas Strip, showered for the first time, and even learned how to burp while sitting in the car seat! (this was a blessing since we were driving to CA)

We all learned that it is important to take time for yourself even if it seems like you might not have the time. The fact is that we will make time for the things that are the most important to us and Family is just that! ( one of the most important)

Well until next time Enjoy! Love life and laugh!
